The Steve Large Trophy

Steve was a significant member of both clubs. He moved to Drummoyne from Balmain in 1982 and passed away mid 1984.

The trophy was started in the 1984/85 season. It was first contested in February 1985 and was traditionally played either on a Tuesday night or it was moved to a Saturday if there was a derby at Balmain where all 6 men's grades were played. Drummoyne only had second division men's teams until very late 1990s.

The Large family continues to be an important part of the Balmain Club and the trophy was donated by another couple that has very strong links to both clubs, Ian and Jean Pennycook.
